The Department of Chemistry was opened soon after Mandalar College was established in 2012. The teaching staffs of Chemistry Department are one Professor, 2 Associate Professors, 12 Lecturers, 15 Assistant Lecturers, and one Demonstrator. Nowadays, there are totally (1100) BSc holders in Chemistry specialization. Totally 520 students were receiving BSc degree and 6 students in BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry major up to 2019. The Chemistry Department provides the opportunity for students to obtain a through fundamental knowledge of all fields of Chemistry. There are lecture courses in the general areas of inorganic, physical, organic and analytical chemistry. The Department had become well known and favorably regarded for the quality of its undergraduate chemistry course.

Bachelor of Science degree program in Chemistry is a 4 year program with 8 semesters. It consists of 168 credits of the course work. Bachelor of Honours degree program in Chemistry is a 5 year program with 10 semesters. It consists of 216 credits of the course work.
