The Department came into existence soon after Mandalar Degree College was established in 2012. The Department is situated in the main building. The office is on the ground floor facing the Mandalar Degree College football training ground. The Department of Mathematics assists to build research capacity of both students and all other science departments.The Department of Mathematics aim the students to resolve the truth or falsity of conjectures by mathematical proof. To improve their problem solving skill in their life. To provide a basis training for anyone wishing to make a career as a scientist or technologist in related field.The department of Mathematics offers the following programme.
-Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (B.Sc.)
-Bachelor of Honors in Mathematics (B.Sc.Honours)
Bachelor of Science degree program in Mathematics is a 4-year program with eight semesters. It consists of 48 credits of course work. Bachelor of Honours degree program in Mathematics is a 5-year program with ten semesters. It consists of 64 credits of course work.
