Background History

Department of English at Mandalar Degree College was established in 2012. The first Head of the Department was assigned to Daw Aye Aye Thwe (Lecture) from 2012 to 2015. And  then Professor, Lae Lae Win was assigned as the Head of the Department from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, Daw Mar Mar Lwin (Associated Professor) was appointed to the Head of the Department in Mandalar Degree College. From (8.6.2012) to (1.1.2021), Daw Than Than Aye (Lecture) was given the responsibility of the Head of Department. Currently, Daw Yin Chaw Su(Associated Professor) is taking over the responsibility of the Head of the Department of English at Mandalar University.

Vision

English Department in Mandalar University is teaching English-related to students who are learning English based on the four skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students are expected to emerge.

Mission

The teachers of the Department at Mandalar University must teach the students specializing in English to see and understand the essence of English literature. Through such training, they will come to know and understand the difference between the mother tongue and the foreign language. The teachers must train and teach to become the students who are fluency not only in Burmese but also in English.

Primary Academic Goal

The teachers of the Department expect the students to produce full of quality. These aim to become good citizens who love the national religion. Teaching teachers also aim to conduct research activities related to the subject of English.
